Cut outside consultants and contracts. Cut spending on outside consultants and professional-services contracts by 20 per cent in ministries, and hold health authorities, school districts, universities, colleges and Crown Corporations to the same target. $50 million this year and $275 million a year from 2027/28 in ministries alone; savings in the broader public sector, which does not publish what it spends on consultants, are not counted.
