On June 10, 2026, the Vancouver Police Department announced the launch of the free VPD Connect mobile application. It provides public-safety information and real-time alerts, and lets users report crime online or call the VPD non-emergency line. The release does not describe direct reporting of non-emergency hazards.
-
In a February 3, 2022 City release, before ABC took office, the City told residents to download the free VanConnect app to report broken street lights and described reporting lights that were burnt out, dim, cycling on and off, constantly on, or unsafe. The release establishes that direct mobile reporting of public street-light issues predated the ABC administration.
-
The City describes Van311 as an official mobile app for reporting issues and requesting services. It says users can report non-emergency issues from anywhere, enter or geolocate the location, add photos or videos, and check request status; the page links to the Van311 app and lists requests including abandoned garbage, potholes, graffiti, and other city issues.
-
The current Van311 service directory accepts direct requests and includes categories for fire and safety, graffiti, lights, signals and signs, streets, transportation, parking, garbage, litter, and other city services. The City provides the request form and location-based service workflow through the Van311 platform.
