Mayor Ken Sim and ABC Vancouver commit to seeking provincial legislative changes to dissolve the elected Vancouver Park Board and absorb park administration directly into City Hall.

Overview

Rather than dissolving the board, Mayor Ken Sim officially walked back and dropped the abolition initiative in July 2026, announcing ABC would instead field a full slate of candidates for the elected Park Board.
