Statement
An Independent Vancouver Arts and Culture Council – We’ll create an independent, sec- tor-led agency governed by a board with arts, culture, equity, and Indigenous expertise. The agency will adjudicate civic arts grants through peer assessment, while City Council will continue to set the overall funding envelope and policy direction. The difference is that the Arts and Culture sector, not politicians, will make individual grant decisions.
